VOTER SERVICES TRANSPARENCY TOUR
September 3 @ 10:00-11:30
Supervisor of Elections Office

Please join us for a full tour of the SOE Election Operation Center. It is a wonderful experience to see first hand the depth of the election process for both in-person Voting and Vote-By-Mail tabulation. See why Collier County has one of the top SOE operations in Florida! It is especially relevant as we are preparing for the November general election. All members are welcome! Any questions, please contact Tina Palmese.
| NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT
Primary election day results are in, and now we gear up for the November election. Thanks to all of our election workers for your help. While Voter Services of LWVCC worked hard tabling, and supporting GOTV efforts, only 26% of Collier County voters cast their vote in the primary. Of 262,000 registered voters, only 69,000 voted. More than 30,000 used mail-in ballots, 15,000 voted early, and approximately 23,000 voted at the polls.
For months, I have been asking members to reach out to others about voting. You can see how important that is. Only 26% of Collier County had their voices heard. We can do better. We must do better. We need your help.

Volunteer to observe the Canvassing Board for the 2026 Collier County Primary Election. At an open public meeting, the Canvassing Board conducts the Logic and Accuracy test of ballot processing and voting machines, reviews Vote-by-Mail (VBM) and provisional ballots, certifies the official results of the election and observes the manual audit of precinct/race. This is an important League service in supporting our mission of free and fair elections, with interesting people who care about election security. Volunteers are needed for the following dates and times:
- Friday, August 21, 9:00-11:00 (Review of mail-in-ballots & 1st unofficial results)
- Wednesday, August 26, 9:00-11:00 (Certification of results and selection of precinct for manual audit)
- Wednesday, September 2, 9:00-11:00 (Manual Audit)
The meetings will be held at the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 3750 Enterprise Avenue, Naples, 34104. If you can observe one or more meetings, volunteer observers will receive background information to familiarize them with this interesting and important task.
Please come join us to celebrate the Immokalee community at the Nuestra Tierra Festival organized by the Students Advocating for Change. It is on Saturday, August 22, at the Robert’s Ranch and we will need volunteers for tabling from 2pm to 6pm. We will interact with the community sharing important voter information and assistance as we prepare for the November General Election. In addition, all are invited to honor the culture and perseverance of Immokalee’s farm worker community with fun-filled music and festivities from 6pm to 10pm! Any questions, please contact Tina Palmese.
