Let's Grow Together! Bring a Friend to Our General Meetings | NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT
Our Vote411.org has been updated with all the current candidates and amendments, thanks to Laura Hansen Reynolds. Collier County voters will vote on 12 local races/measures and 3 Constitutional Amendments. Please check it out and share with others. It is critical that we all do everything we can to Get Out the Vote (GOTV) for this election. We are encouraging everyone to Vote Early if possible. While the Vote-by-Mail will operate as usual, mail early to allow proper delivery time.
Voters under 50 continue to lag in voter turnout. LWVUS will send approximately 360,000 postcards to Florida voters under 50 who did not vote in the 2024 general election. Please help us in encouraging everyone you know under 50 to vote!
The US Department of Commerce and the Census Bureau have proposed significant rule changes to the census that, if approved, would only count US citizens and green card holders toward census apportionment data and would exclude any non-permanent residents and undocumented immigrants from the total apportionment count. For an overview of what is happening with the census and the League’s position, visit this page.
On September 30th, LWVCC will be sponsoring Sandy Parker’s “Getting Ready for the November Election” Zoom presentation in partnership with the LWV Lee County and Hadassah of Collier and Lee Counties. There’s still time to register for this event.
I know there is so much going on for all of us. Please make time to GOTV. Thanks for all you do.

Your general election ballot might include more than 45 local, state, and federal offices to be filled, though the exact number depends on your residence address. In this presentation, Sandy Parker will review the offices and candidates, proposed amendments to the Florida constitution, and proposed local referenda that will be on the ballot for Collier County voters.

Please volunteer to observe the Collier Canvassing Board’s Logic and Accuracy test, which will open the November 3 general election cycle. On September 30, the SOE staff will test all the vote-tabulating machinery to demonstrate the accuracy of the election vote-counting system. This is an important League service in support of our mission to encourage informed and active participation in government. As League volunteers, we will show our support of free and fair elections with our presence at the Canvassing Board meeting as they authorize the opening of the general election cycle.
When: Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 9:00-11:30
Where: Supervisor of Elections Office, 3750 Enterprise Avenue, Naples – 2nd floor Canvassing Board meeting room and Operations Center at the back of the SOE parking lot
To volunteer, click the link below or sign up on our website under the drop-down menu for Take Action, Volunteer, Volunteering Opportunities. Questions? Contact Laura Hansen Reynolds.

VOTE411.ORG IS LIVE
Our local League of Women Voters of Collier County published its online non-partisan voter guide with all the local general election (Nov. 3) races on Vote411.org – every race on your ballot is covered…county, state and federal. The guide also has great information on ballot measures/referenda. Simply put your address into Vote411 and you’ll see what will be on your ballot, including profiles from candidates. Hear each candidates own words about their positions on the issues that face Collier citizens. Referendum questions include a discussion of the issues and what a Yes or No vote will mean. VOTE411.ORG is the League’s one-stop-shop where you can find nonpartisan voting information. Please also tell your friends, neighbors and relatives to check Vote411 before they cast their ballots – let’s all be informed voters! |
