Our small but mighty group of seven members of LWV ventured by bus on Saturday, April 13th for the YES ON 4 rally kickoff in Orlando. Enthusiastic speakers addressed a crowd of around 900 supporters of reproductive rights at the Lake Eola Amphitheater in beautiful downtown Orlando, Florida. Planned by Floridians Protecting Freedom and supported by the League of Women Voters of Florida as well as many groups, including: Planned Parenthood, NAACP, Men For 4, and Lee County Chapter of NOW. Following the impassioned speeches, all participants marched around Lake Eola carrying signs and chanting their vociferous support to pass Amendment 4!
Our mighty and committed Collier and Lee County Leaguers braving the long ride were: Erika Ferrari, Chris Basler, Heather Hart, Karen Swift, Cynthia Cromwell, Nancy Terrari, and Kathy Mayo. This is the first of many rallies! The next is April 20 in Fort Myers. All those who couldn’t attend the Orlando Rally should not miss the one planned closer to us!
